The funeral of George J. Burr, 73, retired Beaverton farmer, took place on 
Sunday afternoon from the Beaverton Methodist church. The Rev. Donald Sailor 
officiated and burial was in the Beaverton cemetery. Mr. Burr was born in 
Livingston county on November 16, 1876, and married Miss Allie Fraser, in 
Rosebush, in 1900. They moved to Beaverton 24 years ago, operating a farm 
until several years ago, when they moved to Beaverton city. Mr. Burr died 
Friday, July 1, at the Mercy Hospital in Bay City following an operation two 
weeks ago.
   Surviving are his wife; three sons, Lester, Earl and Benjamin, all of 
Beaverton; three daughters, Mrs. Cora Stalter of Wheeler, Mrs. Marguerite 
Yager and Mrs. Berniece Mercer, both of Beaverton; two brothers, Edward Burr 
of Mt. Pleasant and John Burr of Sanford; 15 grandchildren and one great 
grandchild. Pallbearers were Sam Stockton, Perry Cowell, Clarence Glidden, 
William McKenna and Ernie Bloomer.
