L. A. CALHOON KILLED BY FALL Elder Willis Shrock conducted funeral services at the Beaverton Methodist Episcopal church yesterday at 2 p.m. for Mrs. L. A. Calhoon, who was killed instantly Saturday when she fell down a stairway while shopping in Clare. Burial was in the Beaverton cemetery. Born July 31, 1861, as Mary Ann Dimminck, in St. Joseph county, she was married to L. A. Calhoon on June 20, 1885. IN 1900 the Calhoons came to Gladwin county and located on a farm in Beaverton township where they have since remained---among the best-known and best-loved citizens in the county. The Calhoons had four children, one of whom, Murray, died 14 years ago. Surviving are her husband, L. Al Calhoon; three sons, Harry, of Hopkins, Ned and Leslie of Lansing; four grandchildren; and two brothers and two sisters, Mahlon and James Dimmick, Mrs. Kate Fuery and Mrs. Amanda Luder, all ot Three Rivers, Michigan.
