Gladwin County Record
William Roger Carper , 65, of Gladwin, Michigan passed away Aug. 1, 2002 at 
University Hospital in Ann Arbor. William was born Aug. 14, 1936 to Cullie and 
Beatrice (Adkins) Carper in Charleston, West Virginia. He married the former 
Nancy Crawford on July 22, 1957 in Miami, West Virginia, and had lived in 
Gladwin County for 47 years. William was a self-employed truck driver, who 
hauled sand and gravel, and he was a member of Assembly of God Church in 
Gladwin. 
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Carper of Gladwin; sisters, Iris Cleveland of 
Clare and Gloria Doane of Harrison; brothers, Garland Carper, James Carper, 
Herbert Carper and Cullie Carper, all of Gladwin; and several nieces and 
nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services and 
visitation were held Monday, Aug. 5 at Assembly of God Church in Gladwin with 
Pastor Brad Withrow officiating. Burial took place in Arbutus Cemetery in 
Beaverton.
