Bessie Metha Cohoon, 93, of 350 W. Brown, Beaverton, died Wednesday, July 6, 
1994, at Mid-Michigan Regional Medical Center - Gladwin, after a short 
illness. Born in Rhodes Nov. 28, 1900, she moved to Gladwin County in 1962 
from Flint. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Gladwin, and 
Lyle Ladies Aid. The former Bessie Stuhr, she married Gay Cohoon June 30, 1923 
in Rhodes.
   Survivors include 4 sons, Elliott of Flint, Eugene of Sault Ste. Marie, 
Donald of Midland, and Stewart of Coleman; one daughter, Virginia Evans of 
Beaverton; 2 brothers, Emil of Beaverton, and Carl of California; 21 
grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She was 
preceded in death by one son, James in 1958, 4 brothers and 5 sisters.
   Rites were held Saturday at 11 a.m. from Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton 
Chapel. The Rev. Donald Dengler officiated and burial was in Beaverton 
Cemetery.
