Gladwin County Record dated 07-10/1985 Column - 2 Page - 2   
Samuel M. Compton, 82, of 2015 N. M-30, Gladwin and formerly of Beaverton, 
died Tuesday, July 2, in the Clare Nursing Home following a long illness. Born 
in Detroit Nov. 6, 1902, he came to Gladwin County in 1943. Mr. Compton was in 
the tool and die dept. at Buick Motors in Flint for 19 years until retiring in 
1970. He was married to the former Hazel Summerton in Flint in 1961. She 
preceded him in death Jan. 2, 1984.
   Surviving are 2 step-sons, Ira Budd of Beaverton and Charles Budd of 
Grayling; one sister, Mrs. Ada Keith of Flint; 9 grandchildren and 5 great 
grandchildren. Services were held Friday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, 
Beaverton Chapel. The Rev. Arthur Munger officiated and burial was in the 
Beaverton Cemetery.
