SERVICES SUNDAY FOR WILLIAM CORNELL

   William S. Cornell, 87, passed away, Thursday afternoon, July 10, at the 
home of his daughter, Mrs. Blanche Bergstrom, in Beaverton. Mr. Cornell had 
been in fairly good health, for on his age, until the past three weeks. He was 
born to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cornell on December 27, 1859 in Wood County, Ohio. 
On January 23, 1882 he was married to Miss Mary De Tray, of McClure County, 
Ohio. They were the parents of six children, all of whom survive with the 
exception of one daughter, Mrs. Nettie Lewis, who died several year ago.
   The Cornells came to Beaverton from Napoleon, Ohio and settled on a farm 
west of town about 30 years ago, where they lived together untiul Mrs. 
Cornell's death on January 31, 1941. Since that time Mr. Cornell has spent 
some of the time with his children. He was a member of the United Brethren 
church and also belonged to the Modern Woodmaen of America. 
   Mr. Cornell was a very congenial and likable old gentleman and leaves to 
mourn hi, three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Blanche Bergstrom of Beaverton, 
Mrs. Myrtle Tenley of Flint, Charles A. Cornell of Alpena, Archie and Frank, 
both of Beaverton. He also leaves 18 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 
one great great grandchild, besides other relatives and a host of friends.
   Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Hall 
Funeral Home in Gladwin with burial in the Beaverton cemetery. Rev. Donald 
Sailor of the Beaverton Methodist Church officiated.
