Gladwin County Record
Barbara Jo Cox, 53, of Gladwin, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001 at home. Born 
Sept. 24, 1947 in Saginaw, she was the daughter of Clarence and Geraldine 
(Kent) West. She lived in Gladwin County 25 years and previously lived in 
Bridgeport. Barbara married James Cox, April 30, 1966 in Saginaw. She worked 
in housekeeping for MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland. She was a member of 
the Church of Daniels Band-Highwood and loved the great outdoors. 
Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Lynn and husband 
Charles Kile of Curtis, and Tamara Jo and husband Robert Lough of Midland; 
grandchildren, Tamara Jo and Robert Lough of Midland, Charles Jr. and Thomas 
Kile, Ryan, Nick, Tawny, Chase, and Hannah Jo Lough; one sister, Jacqueline 
and husband Jeffrey Wood of Saginaw; one brother, Darwin and wife Crystal 
Mederies of Bridgeport; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death 
by her parents. 
Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin with Jim 
Huggard officiating. Burial was in Arbutus Cemetery in Beaverton. Memorial 
contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
