Coy, 89, of Beaverton, died Monday, Feb. 18, in the Gladwin Area Hospital following a long illness. Born in Milford, Ind., on September 8, 1890, he was a retired State Highway Department employee. Mr. Coy came to Gladwin County in 1927 and was a member of the Beaverton Church of the Brethren. He was married to Amy L. Greenawalt on July 4, 1911. She preceded him in death on July 13, 1939. He then married Louise Bishop on August 11, 1948, in Beaverton. She died March 15, 1965. Surviving are one son, Virgil of Houghton Lake; 3 daughters, Mrs. Fern White of St. Helen, Mrs. F. H. (Edna) Crisman of Elkhart, Ind. and Mrs. Richard (Florence) Roempagel of Mishawaka, Ind.; one sister, Mrs. Chloe Stillwagon of Nappanee, Ind.; 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. A daughter, Vera Lemon, preceded him in death in January 1941. Services were held Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. The Rev. Henry List officiated and burial was in the Dale Cemetery.
