He was the father of 10 children, three having preceded him to the great beyond. The living are Mrs. Florence Lake, of Beaverton, Gladys, Mable, Mary, Cornes, Eva, and an infant, Estella, all at home. He also leaves a sister, Emma Bird, and a brother, Frank, two nieces, one in Ohio and one in New York, a nephew in Beaverton, besides aunts, cousins and a host of friends to mourn his loss. He was the fourth son of a family of seven, all having gone before but two. Only two years since he buried his brother Zelora and aged mother. Elmer was a hard working, honest man beloved by all who knew him. The body was brought to his brother's home Thursday and funeral service was held at Dale. He was laid to rest by the side of his first wife and baby, brothers and parents. Elder Vaughan preached the funeral sermon. Out of town visitors were his wife's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Brown of LeGrand, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Will Newville and two daughters, and Robert and Elmer Brown of Saginaw, Russel Arehart and family of Highwood and Mr. and Mrs. John Crosby and son of Edenville. Pallbearers were James Dundas, Will Snyder, Andrew Snyder, Grant Onweller, Jacob Hoover and Mr. Rhodes.
