William E. Davis, 80, a Tobacco township farmer, died on Saturday, July 2, at 
his home after suffering a heart attack on Friday evening. He was born on 
October 17, 1868, at Peru, Indiana, and on March 17, 1895, married Miss Ann 
Mohler at Covington, Ohio. In 1904 they moved to Coleman and five years later 
came to Tobacco township. He was a member of the Beaverton Church of the 
Brethren.
   Surviving are his wife; two sons, Andrew of Battle Creek and Arthur of 
Akron, Ohio; two daughters, Mary E. Davis of Saginaw and Mae V. Berg of 
Midland; one brother, Thomas Davis of Indiana, and one sister, Elizabeth 
Miller of Virginia; also two grandchildren.
   Funeral services took place at 10:30 o'clock on Tuesday morning at the 
Brethren church. Rev. Ernest Jehnsen officiated and burial was in the Dale 
cemetery.
