GEORGE DAVIS DIES OF HEART ATTACK

   A sudden heart attack Thursday at 7 p.m. was fatal to George W. Davis, 69, 
of Beaverton. Mr. Davis seemed in good health up until the time of his death. 
He had worked the day he died helping Jerome Kintner fell trees. Funeral 
services were held Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Beaverton Methodist Church with the 
Rev. S. T. Pendleton, of the LDS Church officiating. Burial was in the 
Beaverton cemetery.
   Born May 12, 1874 , in St. Clair county, Mr. Davis was married on October 
22, 1900, in Gladwin. He lived in Gladwin county most of his life. He operated 
a farm in Tobacco township until several years ago when he retired and moved 
to Beaverton.
   Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Melvina Davis; a daughter, Mrs. Alice Whitman, 
of Tobacco township; three sons, Stanley and Kenneth, of Beaverton, and 
Harrison, of Detroit; a sister, Mrs. Rose Metzger, of Marlette; and two 
brothers, Russell, of Flint, and Marshall, of Allegan; and nine grandchildren.
