SUCCUMBS AFTER LONG ILLNESS

   Mrs. Melvina Davis, 81, of Beaverton, died today (Wednesday) following a 
long illness. A resident of Gladwin County for 55 years, the former Melvina 
Heinz was born in Rosebush on March 11, 1881. She was married to George Davis 
who preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1944. She was a member of the Beaverton 
R.L.D.S. Church.
   Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Alice Whitman, of Beaverton; and three sons, 
Kenneth and Stanley, of Beaverton, and Harrison, of Florida; 15 grandchildren 
and 18 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. 
at the Hall Funeral Home with Elder Alva Pendleton officiating. Burial is in 
Beaverton Cemetery.
