Douglas Doane, 43, of Beaverton, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001 at The Laurels in 
Mt. Pleasant, after battling cancer for 16 years. Born July 6, 1958 in Clare, 
he was the son of Donald and Lily Mae (Eddy) Doane. He was a lifetime resident 
of Gladwin County. Douglas married Bridget (Zolina), June 15, 1991 in 
Edenville. He was a salesman for Ace Hardware in Midland. 
   Besides his wife he is survived by his mother, Lily Mae Doane of Beaverton, 
two brothers, Donald M. and wife Terri of Beaverton, and H. Dean and wife Kim 
of Grand Blanc; three sisters, Dorita and husband George Beal of Bridgeport, 
Vickie Pierce of Beaverton, and Wendy and husband Jack Nichols of Standish, 
and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. 
Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Home in Beaverton with 
Rev. Father Todd Arnberg officiating. Burial was in Tobacco Township (Dale) 
Cemetery. 
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anne’s Catholic Church.
