Benjamin Frank Dumont died June 14 at the age of 68 years. His funeral was 
held at Dale, Elder Flock officiating and his body was laid at rest in Dale 
cemetery. His children were all with him at his death, and attended the 
funeral, also his brother Charles from Ionia. Mr. Dumont settled in Tobacco 
township in 1877. He leaves a wife and six children to mourn his loss. He 
enlisted at the age of 21, and served in the Civil war, receiving an honorable 
discharge.
