(Jack) Eagle, 68, of 4488 West Dale Rd., Beaverton, died Monday, July 3, in the Clare Osteopathic Hospital. Born in Cowen, W. Va., on August 23, 1909, he came to Gladwin County in 1946. Mr. Eagle was retired from the Dow Chemical Co. and was self-employed in construction. He served in the U.S. Army from 1934 to 1938. He and the former Catherine (Betty) Barkley were married on May 9, 1946, in Detroit. Besides his wife, he is survived by 4 sons, Wayne, a major in the Army at Falls Church, Va., George of Clare, Gary and Charles of Beaverton; one daughter, Joanna Statler of Farwell; 4 step- sons, Rev. Clarence Moore and Ralph Moore of Beaverton, S/Sgt. Norbert Moore with the Army in Trenton, Ill., and Barry Bailey of Vienna, Va.; 4 brothers, Homer of Detroit, Myles and Rodney of Flora Home, Fla. and Rolland of Cowen, W. Va.; one sister Mrs. Garledeen Morris of Akron, Ohio; and 21 grandchildren. Services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. The Rev. Arthur Munger and the Rev. Clarence Moore officiated and burial was in the Dale Cemetery.
