Erickson, 74, of 5171 Pleasant Dr., Beaverton, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 1991, in the Mid Michigan Regional Medical Center, Midland, after a long illness. Born in Washington Township, Gratiot County, Aug. 12, 1917, he moved to Gladwin County in 1980 from Mt. Clemens. Mr. Erickson was a welder for Ford Motor Co. in Ithaca, and retired in 1980 after 22 1/2 years. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of the Gladwin County VFW Post 7303. Mr. Erickson and the former Vera Brohard were married Oct. 8, 1939, in St. Louis. Besides his wife, he is survived by one brother, Maynard of Washington State; 2 sisters, Helen Reed of Florida and Mary Johnson of California; 2 half brothers, Marshall Griffin of Flint and Lewis Griffin of Breckenridge; and a half-sister, Connie Olson of California. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters. Rites were held today, Wednesday, at 11 a.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. Pastor Curtis Gordon officiated and burial was in Tobacco Township Cemetery.
