EVANS RITES FRIDAY A.C.P. Evans, 86, of Beaverton Township, died Tuesday evening, Oct. 8, at the Gladwin Hospital after an illness of several years. Born March 12, 1882, in Greenboro, Pa., Mr. Evans was married May 26, 1910, to Edna Walke, who survives him. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Virginia McCulloch of Beaverton, and Mrs. Esther Mattison of Detroit; five sons, Sanford of Dublin, Ohio, Raymond of Port Clinton, Ohio, Hubert of Gladwin, Morris and Wayne of Beaverton; one sister, Mrs. Nellie Herd, and a brother, Harold, both of Ohio; 28 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. one son, Pennington, died in infancy. Mr. and Mrs. Evans moved to Lyle, in Beaverton Township, in 1914 where he cleared the land and farmed, eventually turning to dairying on a large scale. Upon arriving in the new community, Mr. and Mrs. Evans were instrumental in organizing a Sunday School which met in the school house until the church was built. Always interested in public affairs, Mr. Evans served on the school board and represented Beaverton Township as supervisor on the county board for several years. Services will be conducted by Hall Funeral Home at the Beaverton United Methodist Church Friday, Oct. 11 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. A. H. Kessler offficiating. Burial will be in Beaverton Cemetery.
