John Edward Finucane, 61, of 2949 Dale Rd., Beaverton, died suddenly at 
Midland Hospital Saturday, May 24. A World War II army veteran, he was born 
Decmeber 24, 1913, in Lakeview and had been a resident of Gladwin County since 
1937. Mr. Finucane and the former Laura Jane Paxton were married in Indiana 
November 5, 1937. he was employed by the U.S. Soil Conservation Service in 
Gladwin until his retirement. 
   Surviving are his wife, Laura Jane; 2 daughters, Mrs. George (Joy) Hane of 
Clare, and Mrs. Donald (Jean) Sprague of Midland; a son, John of Beaverton; 4 
sisters, Mrs. Katherine Johnson of Gowen, Mrs. Neil Stewart, Mrs. Amelia 
Stewart and Mrs. Julia Stewart, all of Lakeview. Services were held Monday at 
2:00 p.m. at Dale United Methodist Church with the Rev. Zina Bennett 
officiating and burial was in the Dale Cemetery.
