James J. Fitzgerald, 69, of Rhodes, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 1997 at MidMichigan 
Regional Medical Center - Midland following a long illness. Born Feb. 1, 1928 
in Detroit, James lived in Rhodes since 1971 and previously lived in Midland. 
He married Betty Burr March 20, 1947 in Oil City. James was employed as a 
boilermaker by local 169 in Detroit and he retired in 1974, he was also a 
member of Radio Control Modelers in Gladwin. 
   Survivors include his wife; three sons, James J. and wife Susan of Rhodes, 
John L. and wife Kathy of Midland, and Mark A. and wife Cathi of Rhodes; two 
daughters, Connie of Midland, and Debbie and husband Randy Yost of Shepherd; 
16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 
today (Wednesday) at 11 a.m at the Hall Funeral Home in Beaverton and burial 
will be in the Tobacco Township (Dale) Cemetery in Beaverton.
