Hill of Saginaw. Burial was at Dale cemetery. Pall bearers were Frank Johnson, John Flach, Rawleigh Wilson, George Huber, Dewey Stenger and Harrison Bugbee. Born June 11, 1861, at Lambertville, Monroe county, Michigan, he died March 22, 1937, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wayne Eddy of Tobacco township. He married Miss Lily Mae Fobare of Erie in 1885. In 1889 he moved to West Branch. He worked for years for the Michigan Central and Hocking Valley railroads. While working for the latter he received a medal for saving a passenger train wreck when he found a broken rail. He is survived by his two daughters and one son, Myrtle Poppas of Fond du Lac, Wis., Lee Ford of Nestor, Calif., and Mrs. Wayne Eddy of Beaverton; one sister, Mrs. Ida Parliament of Toledo, Ohio; six grandchildren, Evelyn, Harold and Lily Mae Eddy of Beaverton and Eileen, Buddy and Lee Ford of Nestor, Calif.
