Foster, 71, of 9278 Townline Lake Road, Harrison, died Tuesday, May 11, at Saginaw St. Mary's Hospital, following an illness of several years. Born June 22, 1899, in Monticello, Ind., he had lived in Beaverton 20 years, where he operated a welding shop, prior to moving to the Harrison area five years ago. Mr. Foster was married to Mrs Ethel Purcell Oct. 15, 1965, in Gladwin. He was a life member of the Beaverton Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Ethel; four sons, Frank of Beaverton, James of Ohio, Willard of Edenville, and Warren of Midland; five daughters, Mrs. Genevieve Grant and Mrs. Aileen Whitman, both of Beaverton, Mrs Marilyn Garrison of Edenville, Mrs. Lorraine Bastow of Taylor, and Mrs. Eunice Rytlewski of Vernon; four brothers, Eugene of Midland, Gail of Edenville, L. V. and Lyle of California; two sisters, Mrs. May Smith and Mrs. Ethel Smith, both of Midland; 23 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; four step-sons and one step-daughter, 12 step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. One son, Larry, died in 1955. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton, Masonic rites will be held Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery at Beaverton.
