Born in Jackson, May 11, 1934, he moved to Gladwin County in 1977 from Brant. Mr. Fowler was a pipe fitter-welder at Dow Corning Medical in Hemlock. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. Mr. Fowler and the former Dolly Brisbin were married March 5, 1982, in Beaverton. Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Raymond and Allan Fowler of Chesaning; 3 daughters, Sue Haney of Chesaning, Debra Shepherd of Hemlock and Karen Damic of St. Charles; 2 step-sons, Timothy Dexter of Winter, Texas and John Dexter of Mt. Pleasant; his parents, Oren and Helen Fowler of Beaverton; a sister, Lois Gorte of Oakley; a foster brother, Carl Clough of Lakeview, Fla.; and 11 grandchildren. A daughter, Mary, preceded him in death Dec. 11, 1963. Rites were held today, Wednesday, at 1 p.m. from St. Anne's Catholic Church. The Rev. Father James Heller officiated and burial was in the Tobacco Township Cemetery. A Wake Service was held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Gladwin Area, the Pardee Cancer Foundation of Midland or the American Cancer Society.
