Mrs. Alice Freeman, 81, of 2061 Howard Rd., Beaverton, died Thursday, Jan 16, 
1992, in the Gladwin Pines Nursing Home after a long illness. Born in DuBois, 
Pa., Aug. 26, 1910, she moved to Gladwin County in 1968 from Detroit. Mrs. 
Freeman was a machine operator for Detroit Diesel in Detroit for 25 years and 
retired in 1968. The former Alice Zimmerman, she was married to John Freeman, 
April 19, 1954, in Detroit. 
   Besides her husband, she is survived by 3 sisters, Mrs. Helen Balzer of 
Toledo, Ohio, Mrs. Julia Patten of Southfield and Mrs. Mary Zimmerman of 
Jackson, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a 
brother, Peter; and 2 sisters, Alfreda Nielson and Katherine Thompson.
   Services were held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin 
Chapel. The Rev. Father Donald Christensen officiated and burial was in the 
Tobacco Township Cemetery.
