Born in Tobacco Township on August 27, 1881, he had been a farmer and worked in the logging industry. Mr. Freeman had spent his lifetime in Gladwin County. He was married to the former Alice Ray on January 24, 1901. She preceded him in death on August 3, 1971. Surviving are 2 sons, Harold and John, both of Beaverton; one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Geraldine) Simpson of Farwell; 7 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. Services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. Burial was in the Dale Cemetery.
