Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon from the Dale Methodist church with the Rev. Donald Sailor officiating. Burial made in the Dale cemetery. Mrs. French was born in Ontario, Canada on November 28, 1861 and came to Gladwin County 54 years ago, from Huron County. Her husband, Nelson French passed away on September 6, 1918. Surviving are five sons, Charles, of Carter, Wisconsin, William and Herbert, of Beaverton. John, of Detroit and Elmer, of Midland; four daughters, Mrs. Carrie Randall, of Kinde, Mrs. Ida Fairchild, of Beaverton, Mrs. Hattie Crow of Wayland, Mrs. Meda Fauter, of Bay City and Mrs. Edna Reinbold, of Flint; one sister, Mrs. Sue Carnigan of Chase; also 35 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. One son, Nelson, preceded his mother in death in 1911. Her grandsons acted as pallbearers.
