FRENCH Funeral services for Mrs. Herbert French, 53, were conducted Sunday, Jan. 22, at the Beaverton Church of the Brethren by the Rev. Earl Atkinson. Interment was made in the Dale cemetery. Linnie Jane French, the daughter of Percy and Clara Smith, was born October 15, 1902 in Bay City. On December 23, 1920, she was married to Herbert French. She was a member of the Beaverton Church of the Brethren. Survivors include her husband; five daughters, Mrs. Vivian Shaffer of Californina, Mrs. Maxine Koch of Kansas, Mrs. Lillian Wyman and Mrs. Lavern Hitsman of Midland and Mrs. Marion Rooker of Edenville; three sons, Leonard of Midland, James and Clark at home; thirteen grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Clara Belle Gross of Millington, Mrs. Mildred Carns of Texas, Mrs. Lila Green and Mrs. Dorothy Marcum of Detroit; and one brother, Leonard Smith of Florida. Pallbearers were Clair McKimmy, Harlan Quillet, Chris Leuenberger, Fuhrman Tremaine, Ray Wentworth and Lloyd Brushaber.
