French, 34, of Sanford, was found early Sunday morning by a neighbor in a field near his home. Coroner A. H. Bradley, of Midland, said that French had ended his own life by firing a charge from a 20- gauge shotgun into his head Sunday morning about 3:40 o'clock. Bradley, who ruled death a suicide and said that no inquest would be held, declared that no motive had been found for French's action. No members of his family or his neighbors reported hearing the shot. French was born Aug. 14, 1911, in Gladwin county, and had resided in Sanford for the past five years. Surviving are his widow; Laverne; three children, Larry, Jo-Anne and Jeanne, all at home; his father, William French, of Beaverton, a brother, Evert; and a sister, Muriel, both of Midland. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Dale Methodist church and burial was in the church cemetery.
