Arthur William Fruchey, 83, of Beaverton, died Friday, Sept. 6, 1996 at his 
home following a long illness. Born July 22, 1913 in Gladwin County, he was a 
lifetime resident of the county. Mr. Fruchey was employed by Consumers Power 
Co. in Midland and retired in June 1973 after 32 years of service. He was a 
member of the Masonic Lodge No. 453 in Beaverton. Mr. Fruchey married the 
former Mae M. Bardwell May 27, 1933 in Clare County.
   Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Wayne and wife Marlene of 
Beaverton; one daughter, Norma and husband Roger Johnson of Essexville; one 
sister, Evelyn Overfield of Beaveton; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 
and several nieces and nephews.
   Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton 
chapel. The Rev. David Stewart officiated and burial was in the Dale Cemetery, 
Tobacco Township. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to 
consider memorials to the Midland or Gladwin hospice organization.
