Jeanette G. Gilbert, 90, of Elk Rapids, died Monday, Oct. 12, 1998 at the 
Manistee Heights Care Center in Manistee after a long illness. Born December 
25, 1907 in Cheboygan, she married George J. Gilbert, Sr. Aug. 1, 1926 in 
Kentucky. She was employed as a store clerk at Herrlich's Drug Store in Flint, 
retiring in 1972. She lived in Gaylord for six years and previously lived in 
Hoxyville.
   She is survived by her son, George and wife Martha Gilbert, Jr. of Elk 
Rapids; two daughters, Elaine Mason of Bear Lake and Evelyn and husband 
Freedus Colter of Laporte, Co.; 17 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 14 
great great grandchildren; one great great great grandchild; her brother, 
Clyde Albrant of Flint; and her sister, Leona Brainard of Davison. She was 
preceded in death by her husband, one grandson and eight brothers and sisters.
   Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin 
with Pastor Andrew Willis officiating. She was buried in the Beaverton 
Cemetery in Beaverton. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to 
consider their favorite charity.
