RITES THURSDAY FOR MRS. GILLIHAND

   Mrs. Delpha H. Gillihand, 610 Washington Ave., Alpena, died Monday 
afternoon, Dec. 9, in Alpena. Born on July 4, 1880, the daughter of Mr. and 
Mrs. James Shannon, in Sanilac County, she was married to William H. Gillihand 
on June 10, 1910. They came to Gladwin County in 1910 from Bay City, and lived 
here until 1943 when they moved to Alpena. A well-known road contractor, he 
preceded her in death on March 6, 1963.
   Mrs. Gillihand taught school in Bay City and Alpena until 1950 when she 
retired. She was a member of the Beaverton Rebekah Lodge, past matron of the 
Gladwin O.E.S., member of the First Methodist Churches in Gladwin and Alpena 
and a member of the Silver Club of Central Michigan University.
   Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Wachterhauser 
Funeral Home in Alpena with interment in the Beaverton Cemetery.
