Graves, 89, of Beaverton, died July 5, 2003, at the Gladwin Living Centre following a long illness. She was born August 10, 1913, to William and Carrie (Hile) VanSickle in Hersey, Michigan. A recovery technician, she retired from Midland Hospital in 1979 after 26 years of service. She lived in Gladwin County for most of her life and was a member of Billings Bible Church and the Eastern Stars-Coleman. She married Francis Graves June 29, 1929, in Midland. He predeceased her in 1989. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Betty and Dale Mavis of Beaverton; daughter and son-in-law Bonnie and Jim Burgess of Beaverton; son William and Sharon Graves of St. Helen; daughter Beverly Torrez of Beaverton; daughter and son-in-law Ruth Ann and Gary Atkinson of Beaverton; 17 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special nieces Suzanne Deyarmond and Anna Fenton. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents and brothers David and Verde VanSickle. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at 1 p.m., at Hall Funeral Home in Beaverton with Deacon Ken Lind officiating. Burial was in Billings Township Cemetery in Beaverton. Visitation was held Monday from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home in Beaverton. Memorial contributions may be made to Billings Bible Church.
