Carol L. Guiles, 58, of Beaverton, died Tuesday, May 20, 1997 at home after a 
short illness. Born Dec. 19, 1938 in Frankfort, she was a homemaker. The 
former Carol Tomkins married Jim Guiles, Aug. 8, 1955 in Angola, Ind.
   Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter, Jennifer of Livonia; 
four sons, Kevin and wife Cindy of Livonia, Eric and wife Mary of Walled Lake, 
Gregory of Beaverton, and Brian of Westland; three brothers, Dale Tomkins of 
Farmington Hills, Jim and Richard Tomkins of Hubbard Lake; one sister, Barbara 
Parsons of Las Cruces, N.M.; nine grandchildren; and 12 nieces and nephews.
   Services were held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin 
Chapel with the Rev. Timothy Verity officiating. Burial was in Tobacco 
Township (Dale) Cemetery, Beaverton.
