Shirley M. Hamm, 77, of 110 Knox St., Beaverton, died Saturday, Aug. 9, in the 
Midland Hospital Center after a long illness. Born in Springfield, Ill., Feb. 
17, 1909, she came to Gladwin County 9 years ago from Portsmouth, Ohio. The 
former Shirley Sharp, she was married to William Hamm Sr. Oct. 13, 1926, in 
Cleveland, Ohio. He preceded her in death Jan. 6, 1984.
   Surviving are 2 sons, William Jr. of Portsmouth, Ohio and James of 
Beaverton; 2 daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Rose) Stoike of Beaverton and Mrs. Melvin 
(Shirley) Prior of Portsmouth, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and 14 great 
grandchildren.
   Services were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the Beaverton Church of the 
Nazerene. The Rev. Mark Moore officiated and burial was in the Beaverton 
Cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of the Hall Funeral Home.
