HARDGROVE Mrs. Violet Boals Hardgrove, 86, died Friday, July 20, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Stella Conner at Battle Creek, with whom she had been (?) her home since her recent serious illness. Violet Boals was born in Perry County, Ohio on June 24, 1859 and was later married to Roland Hardgrove, who died in March, 1934. The family have lived in Beaverton or vicinity for the past 45 years. She was a member of the Beaverton Methodist church and the Women's Society. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Arnett and Mrs. Stella Conners of Battle Creek; two sons, Shelby Hardgrove of Haydenville, Ohio and George Hardgrove of Nelsonville, Ohio; a brother, Grant Boals of New Plymouth, Ohio; eleven grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and several nieces. Funeral services were held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Beaverton Methodist Church. Rev. Charles Haun of Clare and Rev. Donald Sailor of Beaverton officiated and burial took place in the Dale cemetery.
