Max Christian Hartner, 77, of 5535 S. M-18, Beaverton, died Sunday, June 19, 
at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Jury of St. Johns. Born in 
Bloomfield Township, Saginaw County, on March 17, 1906, he came to Beaverton 
in May 1961. He was a farmer and a member of the Saginaw County Farm Bureau 
and Our Savior Lutheran Church. Mr. Hartner was married to the former Margaret 
Dietrich on January 1, 1935, in Reese. She preceded him in death March 31, 
1978.
   Surviving are 2 sons, Orville and Max of Beaverton; 3 daughters, Mrs. 
Robert (Delenor) Bell of Linwood, Mrs. Otto (Phyllis) Jury and Mrs. Dale 
(Brenda) Fox of St. Johns; 2 sisters, Mrs. Irene Haske of Bay City and Mrs. 
Era Prahl of Flint; 11 grandchildren and 2 step-children.
   Services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Mathews Funeral Home. The 
Rev. William Winter officiated and burial was in the Dale Cemetery.
