Joseph W. Haynes, 61, of 3852 Calhoun Rd., Beaverton, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 
1993, in the Mid Michigan Regional Medical Center, Midland, after a long 
illness. He was born in Claylick, Ohio, on Oct. 23, 1932, and had moved to 
Gladwin County in 1979 from St. Clair. He was an operating engineer for Local 
324 in Detroit and retired in 1987. Mr. Haynes was a member of Masonic Lodge 
580 in Allen Park. Mr. Haynes was married to the former Jane McKinnon on Sept. 
9, 1956, in Angola, Ind.
   Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, David of Beaverton; one 
daughter, Laura Pickard of Beaverton; his mother, Helen Larkins of Flat Rock; 
4 sisters, Betty Yentz, Pat Griffith, Jeanene Cox and Judy Skrobol of Orlando, 
Fla.; one brother, John of Ogden, Utah; and 4 grandchildren. A brother, 
Joseph, preceded him in death in 1974.
   A memorial service was held Monday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, 
Gladwin Chapel with the Rev. Deane Wyllys officiating. Memorials may be given 
according to the donor's choice.
