J. E. HESLOP DIES IN STANDISH Mrs. Palma Heslop, widow of the late Dr. J. Heslop, who for 15 years until his death five years ago was Beaverton's family doctor, died Saturday afternoon at the Standish hospital. Mrs. Heslop was born in Quebec, Canada November 21, 1870 and at the age of eight moved to Manistique, Michigan where she lived during her childhood. She was married to Dr. John E. Heslop in March of 1890 and to them were born seven children. Mrs. Heslop came to Beaverton about 20 years ago with her husband, a former U.S. army doctor, from Edenville. A daughter, Mrs. Max Carey preceded her mother in death. Mrs. Heslop is the mother of James L. Heslop, local postmaster, Other survivors include three sons, Ellis of Flint, William and Bruce both of Standish, two daughters, Mrs. Fred Sanborn of Ionia and Mrs. Kenneth McCulloch of Youngstown, Ohioi and 10 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Beaverton Presbyterian Church at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon. Elder Willis Schrock officiated and burial was in the Beaverton cemetery.
