Hickerson, 80, of Beaverton, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1998 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland after a short illness. Born Sept. 8, 1918 in Seattle, Wash., she lived in Gladwin County 38 years and previously lived in Midland. She was a homemaker. Dorothy was a member of the Sanford American Legion Post #443, and Albright Shores Eagles #3655. Surviving are her best friend/companion, Joe Sugar of Beaverton; three sons, David and wife Carol Miller of Midland, John and wife Linda Miller of Fenton, and Dennis and friend Terry Hickerson of Beaverton; one daughter, Kathy Nelson of Hudson, Wyo., seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Hickerson in 1970; and one daughter, Betty Hickerson in 1957. Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4 at Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel with Pastor Brad Withrow officiating. Burial was in Tobacco Township (Dale) Cemetery in Beaverton. Albright Shores Eagles Auxiliary #3655 held a special serve at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3. Memorial contributions may be made to Sanford American Legion Post #443.
