Ralph F. Hildenbrand, 80, of Beaverton, died Wednesday, June 25, 1997 at home 
following a short illness. Born Aug. 13, 1916 in Lecompton, Kan., Mr. 
Hildenbrand married Ola M. Cottrell Aug. 13, 1946 in Beaverton, and was 
predeceased by his wife (Feb. 2, 1991); three brothers, Wilbur, Fred, and 
Russell; and two sisters, Lorene and Lucille. Mr. Hildenbrand, who retired as 
a painter for Dow Chemical Co. in Midland after 27 years, is survived by a 
daughter Marlene A. and, husband, Robert H. Williams of Beaverton; a son Ralph 
of Elko, Nev.; five grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. 
   Mr. Hildenbrand graduated from Lecompton High School and, aside from being 
employed by Dow Chemical, was a self-employed barber in Beaverton for many 
years. He also served in the United States Army during World War II in the 7th 
Armored Division. Mr. Hildenbrand was a life member of the Gladwin County 
V.F.W. Post 7303, of the Beaverton Masonic Lodge # 453, and of the Lane 
University Museum in Lecompton, Kan.
   Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 28 at the Hall Funeral 
Home in Beaverton, with the Reverend Donald L. Keen officiating. Burial will 
take place in the Tobacco Township (Dale) Cemetery in Beaverton. A special 
service was held at the graveside by V.F.W. Post 7303 Friday, June 27 at 7 
p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials 
to MidMichigan Hospice; the Beaverton Presbyterian Church; the Lane University 
Museum in Lecompton, or the Beaverton Lions Club.
