LONG ILLNESS FATAL TO MRS. HILL

   Mrs. Bertha V. Hill, 71, passed away at the LaOda Rest Home in Kawkawlin on 
Sunday, January 24, after six years illness. Funeral services were held this 
afternoon from the Beaverton L.D.S. church, with Elder Pendleton officiating. 
Burial was made in the Beaverton cemetery.
   Bertha V. Hughes was born in Paulding county, Ohio, on February 15, 1882, 
and came to Beaverton with her husband, Charles, in 1920. Mr. Hill passed away 
on February 27, 1948. She was a member of the L.D.S. church and the Women's 
Department of that church.
   Surviving are two sons, Leo C. Hill of Beaverton and Grant Hill of Seattle, 
Washington; three daughters, Gwenn Mackey of Columbus, Ohio, Villau Hawn of 
Cleveland, Ohio, and Mary LaVeque of Saginaw; two brothers, Elza Hughes and 
Clarence Hughes, both of Ohio. One son, Ernest, preceded his mother in death.
