He was born May 2, 1919 to Arthur and Ethel Hitchcock in Pontiac, Michigan and was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army. He married Rose Nov. 3, 1948 and she preceded him in death in 1969. He married Alexina July 18, 1970 and she preceded him in death in 1998. He worked as a carpenter at Brown and Morris in Muskegon retiring in 1981. He lived in Beaverton for two years. He is survived by three daughters, Norrene and husband Richard Lewis of Beaverton, P. J. and husband Ron Tobias of Houghton Lake, and Vickie and husband Larry Van Steenhouse of Unionville; a son, Jack Alexander of Kissimee, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 22, 2001 at 4 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home in Beaverton with Pastor Chuck Bailey officiating. Burial took place in the Tobacco Township (Dale) Cemetery in Beaverton. Visitation was held Sunday. Memorial contributions can be made to the Pardee Cancer Fund.
