Hitchcock, 51, of Beaverton, died early Sunday morning, June 13, at the Midland Hospital, after a brief illness. Born in Hope, Jan. 20, 1920, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cash Carey. She had lived most of her life in Beaverton, with the exception of six years following her marriage to Melvin Hitchcock January 14, 1939, in Beaverton. Survivors are her husband, Melvin; four daughters, Mrs. Madonna Asch of Beaverton, Mrs. Barbara Ockerman of Shelby, Mrs. Connie Wilburn of Baytown, Tex., and Mrs. Patricia Whiteman of New Martinsville, W. Va.; her mother, Mrs. Mildred Carey of Beaverton; three sisters, Mrs. Ulra Hall of Beaverton, Mrs. Muriel MacRae of Harrison, and Mrs. Barbara Miller of Waynesburg, Pa.; and 11 grandchildren. A son, Michael, died in 1965, and a sister, Mrs. Pauline White, in 1968. Services were held Wednesday (today) at 2:00 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin, with the Rev. Roger J. Browne officiating. Burial was in the Dale Cemetery.
