Mrs. Garnette V. Hobbs, 86, of Gladwin, died Tuesday, June 25, 1991, in 
Tendercare Nursing Home, Mt. Pleasant, after a long illness. Born in Yaukey, 
W. Va., May 24, 1905, she came to Gladwin County 55 years ago. The former 
Garnette Hudson, she was married to Gilbie Hobbs in Lincoln County, W. Va., 
Aug. 29, 1925. He preceded her in death in 1952.
   Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs. Patricia Sampson of Gladwin and Mrs. 
Carolyn Knake of Clio; one son, Donald of San Diego, Calif.; 10 grandchildren 
and 15 great grandchildren. A son, Gilbie Jr. preceded her in death.
   Services were held Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin 
Chapel. The Rev. Bryan Johnson officiated and burial was in the Beaverton City 
Cemetery.
