The Rev. F. E. Voller, pastor of the church, officiated and burial was made in Highland cemetery. Mr. Hobbs was born on September 16, 1903, in West Virginia and was married there to Miss Garnette V. Hudson on August 29, 1925. They came to Gladwin county 19 years ago, when Mr. Hobbs was employed in the oil field. He was with the Roosevelt Oil and Refining Company at the time of his death. He became ill about nine months ago and passed away at University Hospital, Ann Arbor, on Thursday, April 1. Surviving are his wife, Garnette; two sons, S/Sgt. Donald G. Hobbs with the United States Marines, Gilbie Hobbs, Jr., of Traverse City; two daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Knake of Flint and Miss Patricia Ann Hobbs at home; one brother, Wilbert Hobbs, and one sister, Mrs. Ada Starkey, both of Reed City; also two grandchildren.
