JOSEPH R. HUGHES Mrs. Joseph R. Hughes died of a complication of diseases at her home in Tobacco township Saturday evening, Oct. 29 1927 at 11:30 o'clock after an illness of six days. Isetta D. Towle was born May 17, 1863, at Montrose, Genessee county and was married to Joseph R. Hughes Sept. 28, 1881. They lived eight years in Manitoba, Canada and came to Dale, Tobacco township, 32 years ago. Mrs. Hughes was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. She is survived by her husband and her five children, Mrs. Spencer Austin of Detroit, Mrs. Roy McKibbin of Prudenville, John Hughes of Kenosha, Wis., Mrs. Eric Reymore of Bay City, and Lawrence Hughes of Beaverton, one sister and three brothers, Mrs. Mary Reed of Judds Corners, Franklin T. Towle of Hermosa Beach, Calif., James S. Towle of Los Angles Calif., John O. Towle of Judds Corners, Michigan, 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were John Rich, Will and Andrew Snyder, Ed Armbruster, William Scott and Ed Scoby. Funeral was held at the Dale church Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 1 at 2:00 o'clock conducted by Rev. A. J. Preston who preached from the subject, "A Soul at Rest" --Rev. XIV--3. Burial in Dale cemetery. Green be the turf above thee.
