DEATH OF LAWRENCE BURNS HUGHES

   Lawrence Hughes of Tobacco township died June 18, 1933, at Mercy Hospital. 
He was a son of Joseph and Isetta Hughes and was born in the above township 
May 30, 1896. He was married October 16, 1915, to Clara V. McKimmy. To this 
union were born eight children. With the exception of one year in Flint, Mr. 
and Mrs. Hughes and their family have always lived in the Dale community. 
Lawrence was a kind and loving father and companion and a neighbor in the 
community who will be remembered and greatly missed. He leaves to mourn his 
loss, his wife, eight children, his father, three sisters; Mrs. Spencer 
Austin, Detroit; Mrs. Roy McKibbin and Mrs. Eric Reymore of Bay City; and one 
brother, John Hughes, of Beaverton; as well as a host of other relatives and 
friends. Funeral services were held at the Dale church Wednesday at 2:00 p.m., 
Rev. Perry R. Hoover officiating. Interment took place at the Dale Cemetery.
