THEODORE J. "PETE" HUGHES
Theodore J. "Pete" Hughes of Gladwin died July 1, 2006 at his home aft er a 
short illness. Hughes was born Aug. 20, 1917 to Laurence and Clara (McKimmy) 
Hughes in Beaverton. He worked as a truck driver for Associated Tr ucking in 
Pontiac and was a resident of Gladwin County since 1975. He was married Dec. 
31, 1939 in Beaverton to Lorraine Hughes, who preceded h im in death in 1976.
He is survived by by brothers John "Jack" (Lillian) Hughes of Gaylord, Gerald 
Hughes of Goodrich, Maynard (Alicia) Hughes of Midland and James (Margaret) 
Hughes of Lansing; sister Harriet (Gus) Thurson-Balluff of Livonia; sisters-in-
law Etta Jean Hughes of Livonia and Deanie Hughes of Beaverton; friends Jean 
Hughes, Madonna Sherlock and Pat Ladner; and several nieces and nephews. He 
was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Robert and Laurence.
Funeral services will take place Monday, July 3, at the Hall Funeral Home in 
Beaverton then he will be buried in Tobacco Township's Dale Cemetery. 
Visitation will take place Sunday, July 2, from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral 
home.
