Mrs. Lorraine Hughes, 57, of Pontiac, died Friday, September 17, at her home 
at 267 W. Brooklyn St., following an illness of 2 1/2 years. Born May 20, 
1919, in Grout Township, the former Lorraine Perry and Pete Hughes were 
married December 31, 1939, in Beaverton. Mrs. Perry had been a resident of 
Pontiac for the past 35 years.
     Surviving are her husband, Pete; 2 brothers, Sherman Perry of Beaverton 
and Edward of Independence, MO.; and a sister, Mrs. Jess (Eva) Newman of Clare 
County. Services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Hall Funeral Home - Beaverton 
Chapel, with Elder James Wilts officiating. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery.
