Elwood Frank Hund, 89, of Beaverton died June 1, 2003 at Gladwin Pines Nursing 
Home. 
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Evelyn Hund; daughters: Betty Lou Dicken 
(Wilbur) Boot of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Piccola (Jerry) Sweebe of 
Midland, Crystal (Stephen) Burr of Beaverton, Nancy (Roger) Tigner of 
Beaverton; eight grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 17 great-
grandchildren, 14 step-great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; 
brother Clifford Hund of Beaverton; sister Margaret Gust of Coleman; and 
several nieces and nephews.  He was born in Jeddo, Michigan on July 7, 1913 to 
the late Frank Albert and Geneieve (Robison) Hund, the second of eight 
children. 
   He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending 
time with his family. He retired from the Dow Chemical Company in Midland 
after 34 years of service. He was a member of the C.C.C. camp #116 of Alba, 
Michigan. He had a life long interest in tractor/auto repair and farming. He 
enjoyed country music, dancing, traveling and fishing. He was preceded in 
death by brothers Lawrence and Douglas Hund; sisters Wava Bailer, Caroline 
Stillwagon and Piccola Brown; son-in-law Bert L. Dicken; and three 
grandchildren. 
   Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 5 at 1 p.m. at Hall Funeral 
Home in Beaverton with Rev. Linda Jo Powers and Dan Loyd officiating. 
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 4 from 2 to 9 p.m. at Hall Funeral 
Home in Beaverton. Burial will take place in Tobacco Township (Dale) Cemetery 
in Beaverton. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Beaverton United Methodist Church 
or Gladwin Pines Nursing Home.
