Johnson, 92, of W. Brown St., Beaverton, died Thursday, February 1, at Midland Hospital, following a long illness. He was born Feb. 7, 1880, in McClure, Ohio, and had been a resident of Gladwin County since 1915. Mr. Johnson was formerly vice president of the Abrasive Truing Tool Corp. of Freeland, Mich., a former chief of police in Beaverton, supervisor on the county board for Beaverton City, and had been sexton of the Beaverton Cemetery. He was a member of the Beaverton F. & A.M. Mr. Johnson was married in Ohio in 1904 and Mrs. Johnson died in 1907. The former Thirsa M. Ward and he were married June 27, 1912, in Wapakoneta, Ohio, and she died October 26, 1963. Mr. Johnson and Mrs. Iva Grandstaff were married October 15, 1970, in Bath, and she survives him. Other survivors are one son, Ralph of Sanford; five grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; three brothers, Floyd and Wayne of McClure, and Bernard of Long Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. David Couch of Malinta, Ohio, and Mrs. Willie Zeis of Cromers Corners, Ohio. Services were held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Beaverton, with the Rev. Zina Bennett officiating. A masonic memorial services was held Saturday evening. Interment was in the Beaverton Cemetery.
